Each year Misericordia University hosts numerous performances by outstanding national artists and organizations. Events run the gamut from live theater to folk music. Many celebrate diversity and the arts. Most of the events are free of charge.

A JOURNEY AMONG FRIENDS
In June, 2013, Dr. Michael and Mrs. Tina MacDowell will be retiring after 15 years of dedicated service to Misericordia. Over this "MacDowell Capstone Year," they will be making A Journey Among Friends and attending
as many events as possible. Events below marked with A Journey Among Friends in the date line are some of the events which they will be attending. Come, make this special journey along with them!

THE LETTERMEN
With timeless hits such as "When I Fall In Love," "Put Your Head On My Shoulder," "Traces/Memories," and "Theme From 'A Summer Place" (No. 16, 1965, from the Sandra Dee/Troy Donahue film), their signature sound of romantic standards scored them over 25 chart hit singles in the '60s and '70s in addition to 32 consecutive albums. They appeared numerous times on television's "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "Dick Clark's "American Bandstand." The appeared in most major sports arenas in the US performing their rendition of the "National Anthem." Their hit, "Goin' Out of My Head/Can't Take My Eyes Off You" (No. 7, 1968) was the first hit record ever to completely integrate two songs as one.

The Hunt begins promptly at 11am (rain or shine). 
Specify which seating for brunch you prefer when making your reservation:

1st seating - 10am; 2nd seating - 11:15am. A professional photographer will be on-site. Adults $10; children 5-12 $5; n/c under 5.

The Misericordia Players present this musical from the book by Studs Terkel, adapted by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso.

FRANCES TOWNSEND
Government, Law, and National Security
Frances Fragos Townsend served as assistant to President George W. Bush for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism and chaired the Homeland Security Council from May 2004 until January 2008. Most recently, Townsend provided consulting
services and advice to corporate entities on Global Strategic Engagement and Risk as well as Crisis and Contingency planning. Townsend is a contributor for CNN and has regularly appeared on network and cable television as a counterterrorism, national and homeland security expert.

Keynote presentation begins at 7:30 pm in Lemmond Theater, immediately following by a Q&A session.
