Message from the Chair of Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Being in the field of sonography, also referred to as ultrasound, for over thirty years, I have seen tremendous advances in technology and the role and responsibilities of the sonographers. My career has brought tremendous excitement in having the opportunity to learn and perform all modalities of sonography including echocardiography, vascular, and general applications. Best of all, each day is a new day with continual learning opportunities. Across the decades, my knowledge has been enhanced with each credential and specialty certification exam, not only in theory, but application to the clinical setting allowing for higher quality imaging and critical thinking.
