Darcy Brodmerkel has been working in the field of Addictions since 1987. She has been a Counselor and Clinical Director of a variety of treatment centers in NEPA. She has treated adolescents, adults and families. Darcy also shared a private practice in Stroudsburg, PA while working in a treatment center in East Stroudsburg, PA. She holds a BS and Masters degree in Education from East Stroudsburg University with continued education and certification in the field of addictions. She also holds a special certification in Gambling Addiction Counseling.
Her career at MU started in 1995 as a contracted counselor in which she offered individual sessions to students dealing with addiction issues. She has also done numerous prevention programs and workshops for other colleges and universities for Greek Week and RA trainings.
Darcy enjoys working with the college population and through her prevention work, began working in Student Activities offering students alternatives to the drinking. This has lead to her current position as Director of Student Activities/ Addiction Counselor.
Darcy has been a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor since 1991. She has been selected twice for Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and has served on the Luzerne/Wyoming County Drug and Alcohol Executive Commission since 2001. She volunteers at the local prison working with the female inmates Darcy is passionate about her work and helping others and their families deal with the pain of addiction.
