Service Leadership

Welcome to the Service Leadership Center!

The mission of Misericordia University's Service Leadership Center is to engage students in the development of life long civic responsibility through academic coursework. We believe that through service engagement, students will gain the knowledge, skills and commitment to make a significant impact on the communities in which they live. It is our goal to not just engage our students in learning through service but to instill a life long commitment to mercy, service and justice. Further, we believe that the combination of strong academics, career development and community service leadership will foster the development of citizens who will take leadership roles in creating communities where mercy and justice prevail.

Goals

1. Support the incorporation of community service opportunities into college courses.
2. Provide service-learning experiences supportive of the University's mission that connect students with their communities.
3. Foster a commitment to mercy and justice.
4. Develop strong community partnerships between the University and the within the Community that will enable further development of the potential within the larger community in which the University is located.
5. Implement programming such that each student will participate in at least one service-learning academic experience before graduation.
