Annual Fund

The Annual Fund plays an important role in the daily life of the University: it supports our most important asset-our students-by raising the funds to help meet the University's yearly operating budget. As with most private universities, a strong Annual Fund is vital to continuing our mission.

Endowment and Scholarships

To continue the mission of the Religious Sisters of Mercy and make higher education a possibility for deserving first generation college students, MU must be able to offer significant financial aid. The Endowment Fund provides spendable revenue from investment earnings and supports scholarships for academically talented and financial needy students.

Capital Projects

Within the last 12 years, Misericordia has launched three major campaigns. The Campaign for College Misericordia, completed in 1998, raised $10.6 million and changed the face of the campus with the construction of the Mary Kintz Bevevino Library. The Advancing the Vision campaign, completed in 2003, raised $5.2 million for the renovation of Mercy Hall, enhanced our endowment, and added state-of-the-art outdoor athletic facilities. The Leading from the heart campaign, with Phase I successfully completed, raised over $19 million in gifts and pledges exceeding the goal of $15 million. As a result, now open is a state of the art academic center known as Sandy & Marlene Insalaco Hall. Currently, we are in  Phase  II of the Leading from the heart campaign, which  focuses on the purchase and renovation of the former Frontier building on Lake Street that will house our Center for Health Sciences. $5.6 million is needed to complete the project.

Other projects include the rennovation of Rosenn Plaza and the creation of a Shakespeare Garden.

Government, Corporate and Foundation Giving

The University pursues external funds for projects identified as supportive of its educational mission. Over the past five years, nearly $5 million has been secured for special intiatives such as the Women with Children Program, networking the residence halls and funding for several academic programs.
