FACULTY VACANCIES   
 

BIOLOGY 
Adjunct Instructors  - Misericordia University is seeking Adjunct Instructors for freshman and sophomore level courses including Anatomy & Physiology lectures and labs and general Biology lectures and labs. Experience in teaching Anatomy & Physiology courses is preferred. Masters’ degree in a Biological Science (or related field) is required. Days, nights, or weekend positions are available starting in August 2014.

FINE ARTS 
Adjunct Faculty - Core Curriculum -The Department of Fine Arts at Misericordia University, Dallas, PA, seeks candidates for adjunct faculty appointments (multiple positions) to support the Core Curriculum (general education), beginning in the 2014-15 academic year. Candidates should have a background in either Art History or Musicology who can teach introductory-level courses in Aesthetics and Semiotics. Applicants to these positions must have a strong commitment to successful undergraduate teaching in the liberal arts context, and active agenda for scholarship required.

Our ideal candidates will be comfortable working and thinking across disciplines, having interests and experience that extend beyond his/her specialty, and encompass broader approaches to the philosophy of art and human knowledge. Successful candidates will demonstrate their commitment to student learning, success and liberal arts education.

QUALIFICATIONS
A terminal degree (PhD or ABD) in either Art History, Architectural History, Musicology, Ethnomusicology, or Music Semiotics. Evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level, or of potential as an effective teacher is preferred.

NURSING 
Full-time Faculty -The Nursing Department at Misericordia University is currently accepting applications for three full-time (10 month) faculty positions beginning August 2014.  Rank, tenure-track status, and salary are dependent upon the applicant’s experience and qualifications.

The Nursing Department's fully accredited programs include a traditional BSN, Part-time Accelerated evening BSN, Expressway RN to BSN, and a Master’s in Nursing FNP program in a newly renovated College of Health Sciences building.

Qualifications:
• Earned academic doctorate in nursing (PhD, EdD) or related health care field from an accredited institution preferred. DNP will be considered
• Current Pennsylvania nursing license or eligible for PA license
• Board certification as advanced practice nurse if teaching in FNP program
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience
• Teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level and in non-traditional formats is preferred
• Expertise in medical/surgical nursing and/or psych/mental health nursing are preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Adjunct Instructors  - The Nursing Department at Misericordia University is currently seeking adjunct instructors for 6 to 12 hours of clinical per week for medical-surgical, critical care and community health.

Candidates must have a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or in a master's program of nursing and 1 year of clinical experience. All qualified applicants will hold a current Pennsylvania nursing license or be eligible for PA licensure. This position requires flexible teaching hours.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY 
Full-time Faculty  - The Department of Occupational Therapy at Misericordia University, located in Dallas, PA, is currently accepting applications for a full-time (10 month) faculty position beginning August 2014. Rank, tenure-track status, and salary are dependent upon the applicant’s experience and qualifications.

The Department of Occupational Therapy is a fully accredited program that includes a five-year professional entry-level master’s degree program and a weekend college program for individuals already possessing a baccalaureate degree in another discipline. We also offer a post-professional pediatric certificate program, a post-professional master’s degree and a post-professional clinical doctorate in occupational therapy in a newly renovated College of Health Sciences building.

Successful candidates will join an experienced faculty with diverse clinical and educational backgrounds.

Qualifications:
• Earned academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc) from an accredited institution preferred. OTD will be considered.
• NBCOT certification and eligible for Pennsylvania licensure.
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience.
• Teaching experience in higher education preferred.
• Expertise in psychosocial dysfunction, adult physical rehabilitation and geriatric practice are preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities include teaching in areas of expertise and supervising graduate research projects, active participation in scholarly activities, student advisement, and service to the University, community, and profession.

Rank, tenure-track status, and salary are dependent upon the applicant’s experience and qualifications.

• Current Physical Therapy license or eligible for Pennsylvania Physical Therapy licensure.
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience.

• Expertise in pediatrics, acute care, neurological rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Adjunct Instructors -The Physical Therapy Department at Misericordia University is currently seeking candidates for part-time and adjunct faculty positions. Misericordia offers entry-level and post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy programs.

Qualifications of applicants for the part-time Assistant Professor position should include a DPT degree and clinical specialization. Responsibilities include teaching and involvement in student recruitment and advisement. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in clinical or academic settings.

Qualifications of applicants for the adjunct positions should include a DPT degree with experience in clinical teaching.

The positions require the ability to assist with classes during daytime hours. All applicants must hold a current Pennsylvania Physical Therapy license or be eligible for PA licensure.
