Some Spectacular Events @ MU!

Student Activities sponsors or co-sponsors a wide range of special events throughout the year…

Dallas Harvest Festival – This annual festival of the Town of Dallas showcases many different aspects of the Back Mountain Community. With stages showcasing different performances and a gallery of booths that host different Back Mountain businesses and organizations, its not an event to be missed. Misericordia students make a statement by providing invaluable service to the success of the event!
Homecoming Celebration – Every year, a new theme, a new Homecoming Court, and new Homecoming memories! Come celebrate every-years Homecoming with Misericordia that has features a Talent Show, Parade, Field Days, Casino Night, many MU Athletic events, a festive Brunch, and of course, a Volleyball Tournament hosted by the Student Government Association. Past themes have included Circue de MU (09), Going for the Gold at MU (08), and Roll out the Red Carpet MU (07). For more information, see
Harvest Ball – Seniors celebrate their graduation year in style with this annual fall dance. For seniors only to build memories of their last fall.
President’s Christmas Dinner – The President of the University and Student Activities co-sponsor this annual December dinner to mark the middle of the academic year. The Dining Hall is given all the trimmings with this big Turkey Dinner and gifts for all who attend. Students must sign up for this annual event prior to the Dinner.
Snowball – At Misericordia’s annual February Formal, the Snowball, between 400 and 700 students dance the night away in style at one of the local resorts. Sign-ups begin in the spring and the evening is complimented by a wonderful dinner before the dancing begins. This event is open to all students and first year students are allowed to sign up for free transportation to and from the venue.
New York City Trips – Student Activities sponsors a trip to New York City every semester to see a Broadway show for a great student deal. Past shows have included “Wicked,” “Curtains,” “Spamalot,” “Legally Blonde,” “Young Frankenstein,” “In the Heights,” “A Catered Affair,” “Hairspray,” and recently, “West Side Story.”   Seating is very limited, and sometimes sold out on the first day!
Intercollegiate Leadership Wilkes-Barre – This leadership program is sponsored by Misericordia and allows 7 students from the University to join with students from Penn-State Wilkes-Barre, Kings College, Wilkes University, LCCC, and Keystone College for a year-long leadership program that is guided by Leadership Wilkes-Barre.
Smugglers Notch Ski and Board Trip – Join Student Activities for a winter vacation to beautiful Vermont Ski Resort, Smugglers Notch. Staying in slope-side condos, students are able to experience great skiing and riding right after finals and before the winter holiday break.
Midnight Breakfast – Every semester Student Activities hosts a late night study break full of breakfast goodness before Semester Finals begins. Served up by staff and complimented by a DJ, this breakfast is one not to miss! Semester Karaoke finals also occur at this bi-annual event!
Great Hunt – This 3 day scavenger hunt pits teams of students (and a faculty/staff) against one another in a zany competition of nearly 300 items and a loopy Olympics. Angled to build School spirit, be prepared to battle it out in a collection of items, ideas, problems, and tasks to complete before the week is out.
