Exceptional Art-Exceptional Artists

The Speech-Language and Hearing Center at Misericordia University is pleased to host Exceptional Art – Exceptional Artists, an exciting show featuring artwork created by individuals with disabilities. Some of these artists from the Verve Vertu Art Center of The Deutsch Institute also attend therapy sessions at the Speech-Language and Hearing Center at Misericordia.

The Deutsch Institute is dedicated to expanding the leisure and recreational interests for persons with special needs. It enjoys a special relationship with our Center, and we are proud to display a rotating art collection that adorns our clinic walls. The mission of our clinical Center is to provide the highest quality of care to individuals with communicative disorders and other disabilities. Our Center provides a valuable and much needed clinical and community service to residents of Northeastern Pennsylvania. We offer these professional services to area children and adults—many of whom do not have adequate health insurance to cover treatments such as those that we provide. No one is denied service because of financial hardship.

Join us to meet the artists and to support our Center at a Wine and Cheese Reception on Thursday, May 1, 2014, 5 – 8 p.m. We will share fine food and enjoy the work of these artists. You will also be able to tour our new cutting-edge clinical facility in Passan Hall on the 2nd floor of the College of Health Sciences Building, 100 Lake Street, Dallas, Pennsylvania, where the reception will be held.

If you are not able to attend, we hope that you will still consider sponsoring an advertisement for your business or becoming a patron. Our program booklet will provide information about the artists and their work as well as your advertisement. It will serve as an opportunity for you to promote your business and support this innovative, community-based program.

If you are interested in sponsoring an advertisement or wish to be a business patron, please fill out the attached form (click). We would prefer that your advertisements are submitted in the requested format outlined on the form; however, we can offer assistance in creating your advertisement if necessary. All advertisements and payments must be received no later than April 4, 2014. We are collecting email addresses to send a reminder about next year’s event. Please remember to include your email address on the attached form as well.
