Health Insurance

The following students are required to carry health insurance:

 All resident students

All Health Science & Physician Assistant students

(Regardless of their housing status)

All student athletes

(Regardless of their housing status)

A front & back copy of their current insurance card must be given to the Health & Wellness Center and updated on a yearly basis.  Failure to do so could affect a student's housing eligibility. 

Misericordia University does NOT provide student health insurance.  It is therefore recommended that students research the internet to find a Student Health Insurance policy that best suits their needs.  Our local hospitals are Wilkes Barre General Hospital and Geisinger Hospital.  You would want to keep that in mind when selecting a policy so that any potential claim won't be denied for being "out of network".
