Post-Master's Certificate Options:
1. Family Nurse Practitioner provides the opportunity for nurses who already have an earned master's degree in nursing, in another clinical specialization, to complete requirements to qualify for certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Program Description: The certificate program consists of a minimum of 24 credits from the Family Nurse Practitioner clinical specialization. Additional credits in pathophysiology, pharmacology, and health assessment and role development may be required based on evaluation of previous university transcripts and professional experiences. Post-Master's FNP students must complete the requisite number of clinical hours necessary for licensure eligibility by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. The program can be completed in the Weekday or Weekend study options.
2. The recent shortage in nurses has demanded a core of nurse educators. Misericordia University has answered the call by offering a Post Master's Certification in Nursing Education.The program includes three didactic and one practicum course.
Nursing Education provides the opportunity for nurses who have an earned degree in nursing to extend their knowledge in the area of nursing education. This certificate program consists of a minimum of twelve credits which include Nursing Education Course Sequence.
