Academic Partnership Provides a Proprietary Pathway for Misericordia Students Pursuing a Doctoral Level Profession in Optometry

President Kathleen Owens announced a formal agreement between Misericordia University and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) at Salus University.  The PCO articulation agreement will offer guaranteed seats in the Traditional Program for the Doctor of Optometry degree for three eligible Misericordia University students who complete their baccalaureate degree requirements and meet all PCO admissions requirements.

"Misericordia University is excited to be working together with Salus University's College of Optometry to provide opportunity to more students in health science professions who are interested in working in the field of optometry," notes Barbara Schwartz-Bechet, Ed.D., SBA, Dean of the College of Health Sciences and Education.  "Sharing a joint vision of diversity and inclusion, we believe we can collectively work together to foster and support a strong pool of diverse candidates through our partnership. We believe that this partnership will be mutually beneficial and will allow for a variety of innovative alliances across programs, faculty, and students in the future."
