FACULTY VACANCIES   
 

FINE ARTS 
Adjunct Faculty (Core Curriculum) -The Department of Fine Arts at Misericordia University, Dallas, PA, seeks candidates for adjunct faculty appointments (multiple positions) to support the Core Curriculum (general education), beginning in the 2013-14 academic year. Candidates should have a background in either Art History or Musicology who can teach introductory-level courses in Aesthetics and Semiotics. Applicants to these positions must have a strong commitment to successful undergraduate teaching in the liberal arts context, and active agenda for scholarship required. Our ideal candidates will be comfortable working and thinking across disciplines, having interests and experience that extend beyond his/her specialty, and encompass broader approaches to the philosophy of art and human knowledge. Successful candidates will demonstrate their commitment to student learning, success and liberal arts education.

QUALIFICATIONS: A terminal degree (PhD or ABD) in either Art History, Architectural History, Musicology, Ethnomusicology, or Music Semiotics. Evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level, or of potential as an effective teacher is preferred.

Adjunct Faculty -The Department of Fine Arts at Misericordia University, Dallas, PA, seeks candidates for adjunct faculty appointments (multiple positions) to support the Studio Art program beginning in the 2013-14 academic year. We seek artists who can teach introductory through intermediate level classes. Applicants to these positions must be accomplished artists with an advanced degree (MFA) or the professional equivalent with a proven activity record that demonstrates expertise. Higher educations teaching experience in a professional art school setting is preferred. Our ideal candidates will be comfortable working and thinking across disciplines, having interests and experience that extend beyond his/her specialty, and encompass broader approaches to art practice and human knowledge. Successful candidates will demonstrate their commitment to student learning, success and liberal arts education.

4. Two statements: the first is a statement about your creative work in your studio discipline; the second is a statement primarily about teaching undergraduate students. BOTH statements must be submitted as one document.
5. A creative portfolio with at least 20 examples of personal work, and examples of student work if available. Each piece should be labeled with title, date, size, medium, and other pertinent information. PDF files are preferred, but websites and blogs are acceptable so long as the requisite number of personal work is available for viewing.

HISTORY AND GOVERNMENT 
Visiting Assistant Professor  - Misericordia University invites applications for a one-year position as a visiting assistant professor in American history starting fall 2013. Master’s degree is required; however, Ph.D. in history by June 2013 and college teaching experience is strongly preferred. Ability to teach an American history survey sequence required and ability to teach a more focused topical introductory course, such as Modern Middle East, Modern China, or a topic in American history preferred.
 
Review of credentials will begin on June 10 and interviews will be scheduled soon afterwards. NURSING 
Adjunct Faculty  -The Nursing Department at Misericordia University is currently seeking an adjunct nurse educator for teaching in the Expressway RN to BSN program online. This candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside dedicated faculty in a highly collegial, interdisciplinary environment, using the latest technology, in a small personal environment. Misericordia offers a variety of programs including Traditional BSN, Part time Accelerated RN, Expressway RN to BSN, and a Master’s in Nursing FNP program.

Qualifications for the position are a master’s degree in nursing and experience with online teaching using platforms such as Blackboard, Wimba and familiarity with non-traditional formats. All qualified applicants will hold a current Pennsylvania nursing license or be eligible for PA licensure. This position requires flexible teaching hours.

Full-Time Faculty -The Nursing Department at Misericordia University is currently seeking a nursing faculty member for a full time position for the 2013-2014 academic year. This candidate will have the opportunity to work with dedicated faculty in a highly collegial, interdisciplinary environment, using the latest technology. Misericordia University offers a variety of programs including Traditional BSN, Part time Accelerated RN, Expressway RN to BSN, Master’s in Nursing FNP track and a new DNP program.

A doctoral degree in nursing or related field and a master’s degree or post-master’s certificate as a CRNP are required. Qualified applicants must hold a current Pennsylvania RN license and advanced practice licensure or be eligible for PA licensure. National board certification as a CRNP is also required. Experience in medical/surgical nursing is preferred. Candidates must have experience in the delivery of on-line education, familiarity with non-traditional formats, and interest in course development and leadership. The position requires flexible teaching hours, as well as involvement in student recruitment and advisement.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY 
Adjunct Instructors  - The Occupational Therapy Department at Misericordia University is currently seeking candidates for adjunct instructor positions. Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and a minimum of five years of clinical experience are required. Doctorate degree is preferred. Candidates must be a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) with current NBCOT certification and a current state license to practice Occupational Therapy in PA.

PHYSICAL THERAPY 
Part-time and Adjunct Faculty  - The Physical Therapy Department at Misericordia University is currently seeking candidates for part-time and adjunct faculty positions for the fall semester 2013. Misericordia offers entry-level and post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy programs.

Qualifications of applicants for the part-time Assistant Professor position should include a DPT degree and clinical specialization. Responsibilities include teaching and involvement in student recruitment and advisement. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in clinical or academic settings.

Qualifications of applicants for the adjunct positions should include a DPT degree with experience in clinical teaching.

The positions require the ability to assist with classes during daytime hours. All applicants must hold a current Pennsylvania Physical Therapy license or be eligible for PA licensure.
