




Service to Others
Adopt a Grandparent at Mercy Center and Meadows - Students provide a social gathering for senior citizens at the Meadows Nursing Facility and at Mercy Center.
College Kids for Boys - Students sponsor activities once a month for preteens from a low income housing development in Wilkes- Barre.
College Kids Girls/Girl Power Program - weekly visits to the McGlynn Learning Center provide opportunities for our students to interact and run groups and programs with pre-teen girls.
EI HAB Services (School for Boys) – Students meet weekly and travel to Tunkhannock to do different games, activities and crafts with teenage boys who live in this residential treatment facility.
Habitat for Humanity - This service project allows students the opportunity to help build homes for low income families with local Habitat chapters.
Hospitality Ministry – Bagels and juice are provided to the Campus Community once a month on Bagel Wednesday.
Kids on Campus/WWC Program - Students and the community are given the opportunity to enjoy arts and craft projects and activities on campus with children from the campus Women with Children Program.
Social Justice - Students offer time to raise awareness of social justice issues on campus, in the local community, and in the world: including our annual Hunger and Homelessness awareness week. Various speakers, educational sessions, workshops are held on campus every semester.
Soup Kitchen – Monthly, the MU community assists at the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen in Wilkes-Barre.
Spring Break Service Trips – Students raise funds and spend a week doing service during their spring break with the rural and urban poor and with Habitat.
