B.S. Information Technology

The Information Technology degree constitutes an interdisciplinary approach to modern information systems, providing strong foundations in business and computer science as they relate to business information management, development and operations.

The major provides a melding of the two disciplines since the development of a computer-based information system is not merely a technological exercise as it also has managerial, organizational and behavioral implications. The Information Technology degree with MIS Specialization offers a strong foundation in computer science, business theory and practice and the related role of information flow within an organization.

The Management Information Systems Major provides majors a balance of theory and practice in both disciplines and prepares students for entry-level positions in such fields as systems analysis, systems design, and information systems management. Students may also elect to continue their studies at the graduate level.
