Sister Ruth Neely,RSM, MSN, CRNP (Class of 1996) was recently featured in an article in the Times Leader, dated August 7, 2011. www.timesleader.com
Sister Ruth's practice with AIDS patients at the Wright Center for Primary Care in Scranton was the focus on this article. The facility is the only primary care center for HIV patients in a seven county region of northeastern Pennsylvania. She was also appointed for a three year term to the Pennsylvania Governor's Health Policy Board, an advisory group wihtin the Department of Health tasked with with development of the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP). The group also advises the Secretary of Health on public policy issues related to underserved populations in Pennsylvania.
Lauren Murphy, RN, MSN, a May 2011 graduate of the Adult CNS program was awarded the Nancy and Donald Dayhoff Clinical Nurse Specialist Scholarship from the Clinical Nurse Specialist Foundation of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists. He scholarship was awarded to recognize Lauren’s outstanding achievement in course work, and her leadership activities. Lauren was also the recipient of the Dr. Marcie Jones Graduate Award.
Betsy Gaffney, MSN, CRNP (Class of 2003)was featured in recent articles by The Dallas Post and the Times Leader. The interviews focused on Betsy’s clinical practice with PhysicianCare, P.C., in Laceyville, PA where she is the sole provider to a large rural population. Her interview provided the community with an excellent representation of the primary care NP role.
