Introduction

Instructors place items on reserve at the library to provide students with supplemental materials for coursework.  The library staff processes both traditional and electronic reserves.  Placement of materials on reserve ensures access to frequently used materials that include journal articles, book chapters, syllabi, class notes and items from personal collections.

Traditional Reserves

Traditional reserves include books, journal articles, class notes, DVDs, CDs and other pertinent materials to support classroom instruction.  They are kept on the reserve shelf (behind the Circulation Desk), at the request of an instructor.   Traditional items are expected to be in high demand, and therefore they have limited loan periods. They are also subject to an overdue fine of $2.00 per day.

Electronic Reserves

Electronic reserves are electronic files or links to files and websites placed on reserve at the request of an instructor and available through Blackboard.  Files/links may include book chapters, journal articles, class notes, video files and other pertinent materials to support classroom instruction.  These materials can be accessed throughout the class and are removed when the class is over.

How to Access Electronic Reserves - Accessed via your Blackboard course. These are supplemental readings for your course.
