Campus community heralds arrival of holiday season

Misericordia held its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Friday, Nov. 30.
The entire Misericordia University campus community celebrated the beginning of the holiday season by singing Christmas carols with the Chamber Singers and decorating and lighting the campus Christmas tree in the foyer of Mercy Hall.

The revelers included children of the students in the Women With Children Program who took turns placing ornaments on the holiday tree and presented the Baby Jesus to be placed in the manger. Sister Patricia McCann, RSM, with the help of Angelina Vargas, blessed the manger. President Michael MacDowell offered remarks. The special celebration also featured light refreshments.
