Misericordia University presented Sarah Munley of Vernon, N.J., with the Mercy Charism Award and the Kitty Rooney ’50 Memorial Award for Outstanding Service at the 30th Annual Student Affairs Leadership Awards Dinner in Sandy and Marlene Insalaco Hall on campus.

The Mercy Charism Award is given in recognition of student leadership that represents the core values — Mercy, Service, Justice and Hospitality — of the Religious Sisters of Mercy, the founders and sponsors of Misericordia University.

The Kitty Rooney ’50 Memorial Award for Outstanding Service is presented to a Misericordia University student who has been an asset to both the campus and regional communities by offering his or her service while enrolled at MU. The Kitty Rooney ’50 Memorial Award is named in honor of Rooney, a Wyoming Valley native who was a member of the Misericordia University Class of 1950.
